武汉商业服务学院成立于1985年，是教育部批准的湖北省省属普通高等专科学校，主要培养现代服务业、制造业的高等技能型和应用型人才。学院地处武汉经济技术开发区后官湖畔，校园占地面积1100亩，建筑面积12余万平方米，学院现有教职工570余人，具有教授、副教授等高级技术职务110余人，有多名专家享受国务院和武汉市政府津贴，各类在校生达6400余人。
学院设有12个教学系、部和继续教育学院、现代教育技术中心等教学机构。开设有42个本、专科专业和专业化方向，烹饪工艺、制冷与空调等专业为国家和湖北省教改试点专业。图书馆藏书37万余册。
学院注重国际交流与合作，先后与日本、芬兰、新西兰、新加坡、法国等国家学校结为友好学校，开展交流与合作，互派师生访问、进修。学院坚持“质量立校，特色兴校”，以就业为导向，创新教学模式，注重综合素质和能力的培养，推行学生多证书制度，就业率达到90%以上，深受社会欢迎。2004年6月，湖北省人民政府批准，将原武汉市经济管理干部学院、武汉职工财经学院和武汉市职工大学并入武汉商业服务学院，建设一所新的“武汉商学院”。

Introduction to Wuhan Commercial Service College
Wuhan Commercial Service College was set up in 1985. It was approved a college under Hubei Province by Ministry of Education. Its aim and purpose is to train senior skilled workers and technicians in the fields of modern service and manufacture.It is located near Houguan Lake in Wuhan Economic and Technical Development Zone with the total area of 1100 mu( about 7300 acres), and the gross floor area of 120,000 square meters.The teaching and administrative staff is 570, 110 of whom are professors, associate professors and advanced technicians, some of whom enjoy allowances from the State Council and Hubei Province government. There are 6,400 students in the college. The college consists of 12 departments, Further Education School and Modern Education Technical Centre. There are 42 specialties. The Culinary Technology and Refrigeration and Air-condition are authorized by the state and Hubei Province as the reform experimental specialties. The collection of the books is 370,000 volumes in the library.
The college pays attention to the international exchange and cooperation. It has friendly contacted with some schools in Japan, Finland, New Zealand, Singapore, France and so on. They have exchanged their teachers and students to the other side to study and visit.
The college holds its quality and characters, and insists on the principles: the employment orientation, the innovation in the teaching methodology, as well as the student’s comprehensive qualities and abilities. It also promotes a policy of many certificates .The rate of obtaining employment is more than 90%, which is popular in society.The college was approved by Hubei Province government that the Wuhan Economic Management Cadre College, Wuhan Finance and Economic College of Worker and Staff and Wuhan College of Worker and Staff were merged into Wuhan Commercial Service College to build a new Wuhan Commercial College in June, 2004.
